Veteran rapper Naetochukwu Chikwe, aka Naeto C, is one of the few veterans in the Nigerian music industry who is not only talented but also learned. Naeto, who was born in Houston, Texas bagged an MSc in Energy Studies at the University of Dundee in Scotland, in 2010.
Naeto who suspended his music career at a time it was really booming, to pursue is Masters said doing that was not an easy decision.
It was a very big and difficult decision for me to make, but I felt it was the right decision. Leaving Nigeria at that time with the magnitude of ground I had covered in my music and the popularity I had gained was a risk because it meant that I was going to forfeit a lot of opportunities like getting shows, possible endorsements and marketing myself and my music.
But when I weighed the options, I was convinced that going to school was the correct decision. I felt it would have a greater impact on the larger scheme of things, it would affect other people, especially those that look up to me as a role model. Moreover, my becoming a musician was just a chance thing and there was already a plan in place before the music came and furthering my studies was part of it.
Tuface Idibia
Iconic Nigerian singer Tuface Idibia is also one of the artistes in the country who has a Masters Degree. The singer holds a Master of Arts in Music degree. Tuface was presented with the honorary degree at Igbinedion University, Okada, Benin on May 10, 2016. On being called about the honor, Tuface said;
‘When they told me this, I thought I was being punk’d! Even when I came here, I still thought I was being punted. Up till now, I’m still in shock. So I want to say thank you to the honourable Chancellor Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, I want to thank the deputy-chancellor, Chief Lucky Igbinedion’.
Hafiz Oyetoro
Nollywood veteran actor Hafiz Oyetoro popularly known as Saka, is also one of the celebrities in the country with a Masters degree. Born in Adegbola town of Iseyin Local Government Area, Oyo State, Nigeria, Oyetoro, bagged a Master’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State.

Damilola Afolabi aka L.A.X is a Nigerian artiste that was born in 1993. L.A.X has a Bachelor of Science degree from Salford University, Manchester, and bagged a master’s degree from the same institution.

Born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popular Nigerian DJ, DJ Cuppy, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, bagged a Masters Degree in Music Business from New York University.
