According to the world wide web, Stress is a normal reaction the body has when changes occur. It can respond to these changes physically, mentally, or emotionally. The physical signs range from Low energy, Headaches, Insomnia, Rapid heartbeats and chest pain. Emotional signs are Depression, Anxiety, Compulsive behaviour, Mood swings etc. The top three causes of stress in the world today for the average person are Money, Work and Poor health so if you have had a tough week or a couple of months with almost everything going sideways, from work to family, to your car, your bills and everything else in between. So, when life hands you a ton of lemons,  I want to tell you how you can turn them into lemonade.

  • KEEP YOUR PERSPECTIVE IN CHECK: We all have our inner pessimist who occasionally wants to come out and play but you should not let it especially when stress sneaks up on you. Reframe the situation to find the positives. Find all the things you are grateful for and you will find out after 5 minutes, your perspective will shift away from stress.

  • SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAVOURITE PEOPLE: I know this one is hard as we tend to prioritize our to-do lists and whatever else we’ve got going on above ourselves. But I promise you, if you can invest just a little bit of your time back into your own happiness, everyone and everything in your life will benefit from it.

  • REST IF NEED BE: Sometimes, your body just needs you to relax, take a breather, sleep, rest and pamper yourself. Even though it looks like you do not have the time to do that, trust me, if you crash, you will have no choice than to actually obey and rest
  • MOVE THAT BODY: There is a real correlation between your body and your brain and sometimes it needs you to find ways to move your body that you consider fun. Don’t force yourself into anything that doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t matter how you move your body, it just matters that you do.

  • GET HELP IF NEEDED: There are some things that a good workout or favourite people just can’t fix. If the stresses in your life are taking over your ability to actually enjoy your life, reach out to someone who can help. Asking for help when you need it is the strongest thing you can do.
