Want To Involve Your Kids In The Kitchen? These is How

This is quite short but very educative about the ways to involve your wards in cooking. Sounds right? Yes it is. You should let them join you in the kitchen when they can.

This is not just helping you but helping them develop some skills on how to make a particular food or how to make the kitchen clean after preparation of each meal. Kids are funny at times and they would want to get to your nerves while in the kitchen with you, this tips will help you calm them down and make things work out in a very simply and fun way.

Preparing a meal with little kids hanging around can be fun if you know how to go about it.

You see that picky eater of yours who would not touch the vegetables and would pick out the onions in your food can change if you involve him in the kitchen.

Research has shown that kids who take part in preparing their meals are more interested in eating what they helped to prepare. I can hear you saying “would that work?” Yes it will! Don’t believe?

Here are ways to involve your kids in the kitchen.

Listen to them:

Parents should be liberal about meals prepared in the home. Ask for the children’s suggestions on the vegetables, carbs or fruits they would want for the family consumption. This would gladden their hearts if their suggestions infused in the family meals. Such a child would be eager to try it.

Let them help:

Involvement of your kids in cooking should be age appropriate. Do not let your toddlers handle sharp objects like knives. Chores like washing vegetables in water are okay for toddlers. Older children can help in slicing vegetables and other activities in the kitchen. We are sure you understand what we mean here right?

Tasting of Food:

This would happen most of the time when you engage children with kitchen activities. Some would ask you to give them from what you are cooking especially when you put some in your mouth too. LOL Do not always listen to them when it comes to this aspect, they tends to lose their urge for the food after you finished preparing it. They won’t eat much from the served food. Not because they do not like it, but because they have felt the taste while in the kitchen. And some of them would tell you they aren’t interested in the food or that they want something else which is not a good thing for you and for them in particular.

Let them clean up:

Cleaning up is a significant part of cooking in every home . Have your children clean up when you are together in the kitchen. Washing plates, cups and spoon will make them not to be wasteful in its usage and its contents(food). This will help them when they grow up either being a girl or a lady.

The more they are involved the more they would come to appreciate all you do for them.
