U-17 WorldCup Round of 16 Fixtures: How Nigeria Golden Eaglets Qualified and Who's Next in Their Way

The Nigeria U-17 Team, the Golden Eaglets have been drawn with the Netherlands in the on-going FIFA U-17 Worldcup Championship ongoing in Brazil. Nigeria will clash with Netherlands, in the 2019 U17 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday.

The Golden Eaglets qualified as Group B winners, despite losing their final group fixture to Australia. in their final group match. This didn’t affect them in anyway as they have already progressed to the round of 16 in the tournament.

We’ll recall that the Eaglet won their first game of the competition defeating Hungary by 4 goals to 2 following by their hard fought winning against Ecuador coming back from a goal down to win in the two occasions.

Garba’s men are now looking to qualify to the quarter final of the competition if they could beat the Netherlands in the showdown that’s meant to be tough. Though the Dutch qualified as one of the four best third-placed teams in the group phase but wouldn’t mean they won’t be looking for a way to hurt the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria.

The winner taking on either Paraguay or Argentina in the quarter-final.

Debutants Senegal meanwhile will take on four-time runners up Spain, while Angola play South Korea for a place in the last eight.

As of the time of writing this, there is no injury concern with any of the Garba’s men as the two teams are ready to lock horns tomorrow evening.

Many fans are happy with the performance of the golden eaglets due to the fact that they came first from the group and qualified to the round of 16th. But some still didn’t have much trust in them yet as they believe anything can still happen.
