The United States Department of Justice has indicted 77 Nigerians in connection to fraud cases involving a total of 80 people.
Nick Hanna, the United States Attorney for the Central District of California, described this case as “one of the largest cases of its kind in US history,” at a press conference on Thursday.
In a 252-count federal jury indictment, the defendants are accused of participating in massive online frauds involving theft and money laundering.

Speaking further on the matter, Nick Hanna said,
“Today, we have taken a major step to disrupt criminal networks that use BEC schemes, romance scams and other frauds to fleece victims.
This indictment sends a message that we will identify perpetrators – no matter where they reside – and we will cut off the flow of ill-gotten gains.”
This news is coming just a few weeks after the arrest of Forbes under 30 Nigerian, Invictus Obi.

I will not bring myself to the level of engaging with anyone who thinks they should support or find justification for Yahoo-Yahoo
Whichever way you want to slice it, it is fraud, it is a crime and you're destroying lives

There are lots of legit work you can do online and make bastard money that’s not yahoo yahoo or cybercrime. You’ll be working from the comfort of your home & be making over $5k monthly without a degree.
But many people don’t want to learn this and end up like the 80 idiots

One idiot here wants to justify the fraudulent activities of the 80 as a reflection of our poverty. Oga you lie. How many times have you seen or heard South Sudan or Somalians named in Yahoo Yahoo fraud to this extent?
Poverty is not an excuse for fraud.

Seems like Invictus Obi will be the one to finally put an end to Yahoo Yahoo fraud in Nigeria. He just needs to keep singing to the FBI. Our border is open to them. They can come and make arrests anytime they want. No need for permissions 😂

Some of you call it hustle. It doesn't matter how hard you try to justify it. Yahoo yahoo is bringing the name of the country to disrepute. Until you need to get something from an international body and you get rejected because of the country's reputation, you won't learn. Smh pic.twitter.com/UntAuo78H4
