This city is also a hub of many exciting places to visit and there are several transportation systems, both public and private, which make crossing the ever-busy city easier.

-
Transportation Network Companies: Lagos has several transportation network companies with the most popular been Uber, and Taxify. These taxi services use mobile platforms on which users can order from any location. A lot of Lagosians use this service and it is deemed quite safe and saves time. You just need to download the mobile app of your company of choice.
Extra Thought: If you are going somewhere far and not sure of the traffic, I advise you to think about it very well. You just might end up paying more because of Lagos and her trademark traffic.
-
Lagos taxi: Lagos taxis can be seen everywhere and are easily identifiable by their distinctive colours which are yellow. They ply all parts of Lagos and you can hail them from the roadside or get to their designated parks.
Extra Thought: You must know how to negotiate very well and make sure you come to an agreement on price before starting the journey. Do not act like JJC or Butter if not, they will charge you.
-
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT): The ‘BRT,’ is regulated by the Lagos State Government and the buses have their own ‘corridors’ in major parts of the state, which means they are most times not delayed by general traffic. The LASG has brought out another set of buses to add to the first fleet rolled out years ago. The BRT is Air Conditioned so you can be sure to have cool air before you drop.
Extra Thought: If you cannot be on a queue, please don’t think you have 2 heads by jumping it. Purchase your tickets, be sure of the bus you need to enter and make sure you press the bell before your stop.
-
Public bus (Danfo): Danfo’s are everywhere and travel to every part of Lagos, even to where BRT buses and taxis do not go. The conductors of these buses are always available to announce destinations to passengers. Prices are also irregular and depend on the distance, traffic, state of the road, weather and the bus owner himself.
Extra Thought: If you are going to enter Danfo, the only thing is to shine your eye very well. No go dey look Uche face o.
-
Keke Napep (tricycle): Keke Napep are tricycles used a lot in Lagos, but only around residential areas, suburbs, and roads that are not major. They are very popular in large markets to move customers’ goods in and out.
Extra Thought: Do not sit in the front with the driver. You will be different shades of uncomfortable especially if the journey is long or the road is bad.
- Motorcycles(Okada): Motorcycles are of course faster than all the other modes mentioned here. We have the regular ones and the ones that operate under the Transportation network companies like Gokada. The regular bikes are not acceptable on Major roads in the city and you really just need your cash as you hop on.
Extra Thought: If you do not have mind or speed is not your thing, jejeli respect yourself and don’t hop on. Because those bike men watch Fast and Furious in their spare time.
