If you are in a relationship, this would help you immensely but even if you are not, it’s okay to have these things in handy.

Are you ready?

  • Honesty is always the best policy: If you or your partner can look at each other in the eye and then proceed to lie or be dishonest, then you both have a huge problem on your hands. A healthy relationship breeds loyalty and honesty, no matter what the situation is.

  • Always apologize: We know that Ego is such a legit thing and it sometimes takes an effort to apologize when you are wrong. It should not be like that, own up to your mistakes as this will show your partner that you’re serious about doing what is best for the relationship.

  • Spending time together is crucial: Quality time together cannot be held on the same pedestal as gift buying. Setting aside time specifically for you and your partner is extremely important if you want your bond to grow stronger. It’s not about finding the time, it’s about making the time.

  • Love unconditionally: This means overlooking your partner’s flaws, past, and mistakes and choosing to love them just the way they are. If you hope to have a healthy relationship, you must learn to accept and love every aspect of your partner.

  • Never try to control your partner: Last time the universe checked, your partner was surviving before they met you, so there is no reason to try to gain control over them especially by controlling their actions, desires, or thoughts. Did you not fall in love with them for who they are, so why bother trying to change them?

  • Spoil your partner: Both partners deserve to be spoiled in the relationships, but this doesn’t just mean with materialistic things. Spoil your partner with respect, humour, back rubs, good food, their favourite movie, a romantic walk, admiration, forehead kisses and the list goes on.

  • Keep private matter private: Everyone shares different aspects of their relationship with those closest to them, but try not to overdo it. There are always certain things that should remain private in your relationship thereby showing your partner loyalty and respect.
