It is always fun to see our favourite musicians feature in Nollywood movies and display a different part of them.
This is not only peculiar to the Nigerian movie industry. The likes of Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and so on, have featured in Hollywood movies.

Banky W in The Wedding Party
Our favourite musician, Bankole Wellington (a.k.a Banky W) played the lead role in one of Nollywood’s most successful movie, The Wedding Party.
He performed excellently as the groom, Dozie Onwuka. Banky W has also blown our minds away by featuring in a recent movie, Up North.

Peter Okoye in Lionheart
Yes! Our very own Peter Okoye played the role as Genevieve Nnaji’s love interest in Lionheart. This movie also featured the acting legends such as Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu, Kanayo O Kanayo, and Nkem Owoh.

Sheyi Shay in Lara and the Beat
Sheyi Shay made her acting debut in the movie, Lara and the Beat. Her performance in the movie was incredible and this has made a mark in the Nigerian movie industry.

Ikechukwu in The Wedding Party
In terms of music, we haven’t really heard from Ikechuckwu but he seems to be making a promising act in the Nigerian movie industry.
Ikechukwu first got our attention in Gbomo Gbomo Express. In the movie, he played the role of a musician who got dropped from his record label.
His acting career was launched as he featured in The Wedding Party as the troublesome groomsman.

The ‘Lafiagi’ rapper made his acting debut in the movie titled June. This was produced in 2017. He also featured in 2018’s movie, Lara and the Beat.

Ice Prince in House of Gold
Ice Prince played the role of a cover-up lover in Ghanaian film, House of Gold. He gave us an amazing performance that made us almost crack our ribs out.

Phyno in Lionheart
The “Fada Fada” singer made his acting debut in Lionheart. In this movie, he played the role of Onyeka Onwenu’s on-screen son and Genevieve Njani’s brother.

Omawumi in In the Music
Omawumi played excellent roles in The Return of Jenifa, In the Music, House of Gold, Make a Move and Inale.
She is no doubt a fantastic actress!

Falz in New Money
Falz is an amazing artiste that has been able to juggle both his music and acting career to bag two AMVCAs.
He made his acting debut in Couple of Days and has since featured in movies such as Jenifa’s Diary, New Money and Chief Daddy.

Tiwa Savage in Shuga Naija
Tiwa definitely did an outstanding job with her role in the third of MTV’s hit series, Shuga. There, she played the role of Sade.

Waje in The Tunnel
Waje made her acting debut in 2014 movie The Tunnel. She followed this up with a role in a Nigerian TV series, Battleground.
Waje is undoubtedly a made actress!

You may have no idea but David Adeleke (a.k.a Davido) made his acting debut in the movie, John Zerebe produced in 2015. He acted alongside Mimi Orjiekwe, Kanfui Danku, and Gloria Young.
