Unripe plantain porridge is a very delicious and nutritious meal. Made using the unripe plantain, this is very healthy and known to be served to diabetic patients because of its low sugar content, it contains a lot of Vitamin D and calcium.
It also contains vitamins B6, C, A. The rich unripe plantain and other ingredients help in strengthening the bones because of the high calcium content, helps in enhancing good vision, helps in boosting the immune system and it enhances sexual performance, that is, it boosts libido of a person.

Ingredients
- Green/unripe plantain
- Handful/Green of Fresh Shrimps(optional)
- Palm oil
- Crayfish
- Sugar
- Ugu (Vegetable leaves)
- Boiled or Fried Snails
- Dry Shrimps
- Fresh Tomatoes
- Fresh Peppers or Dry chili Powder.
- Medium sized Onions
- Seasoning
- Salt
Method
Step 1
Wash the unpeeled green plantain in warm water first
before you start. Slice the plantain into 4 pieces each and rinse thoroughly.
Step 2
Add 2 cooking spoon of palm oil in a thick pan. Allow heating for 2 minutes and add a few slices of the onion.
Step 3
Add 3 cups of water, the green or unripe plantain, crayfish, pepper, shrimps, few slices of onions, tomatoes, a bit of sugar, seasoning and cover to cook.
Step 4
Check if plantain is soft, marsh it together with wooden spoon, allow to simmer for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add water if too thick and a few Ugu vegetable, taste the seasoning and pepper. Ensure to stir occasionally.
Step 6
If satisfied then serve boiled fried snails, you could fry the snails in a pepper sauce.
Step 7
Serve the porridge, which should now be soft with a thick creamy texture to the base, with a chilled drink.
