Popular Preacher Reinhard Bonnke Known For His Mission Work Across Africa Dies At At 79. Read What His Wife Has to Say

German evangelical preacher Reinhard Bonnke, who had a huge following in Africa, is dead. His  death was announced in a statement released on Saturday, December 7, 2019 and shared via the preacher’s Facebook page.

The statement, signed by his wife Anni Bonnke, reads:

“Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. It is with sorrow that the Bonnke Family would like to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.

“He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 7, 2019. For the past 60 years, he has preached the glorious Gospel of Jesus throughout the entire world. We want to thank you on behalf of him and our family, for your kind love and unwavering support, which enabled him to preach the matchless message of salvation to countless people. He preached Jesus.”

According to the obituary on his website, Bonnke drew 1.6 million people to one gathering in Lagos, Nigeria in 2000, and he had converted 79 million people during his lifetime.

He was 79 at the time of his death.
