A Twitter user has taken to the platform to share the story of a petty thief who was appropriately dealt with by the residents of the area he stole from.
According to the Twitter user;
Instead of setting him ablaze with a tyre around his neck, residents gave this petty thief a shovel to clean up gutters as his punishment stealing. They even bought him pure water o, lol. See community service
Nigerians have since taken to the comment section to react to the way the thief was punished.

If we avoid 'jungle justice' for petty thieves like this and convert that to compulsory community service, our communities will be better for it. Many more offenders may repent and do more social good!https://t.co/zug8aMmcWi

This probably the way forward, maybe pay him a small token to teach him the dignity of labor

I think possibly cleaning gutters in communities is a business idea from a punishment that saved his life. He can make his own money.
