These four make life work for us: Music, Nature, Laughter and Meditation
What would life be without them?
Somehow, the Creator gave us a SENSE OF HUMOR that enables us to laugh at ourselves and other unusual events. What a gift!
We are also equipped with a SENSE OF AWE when we watch a butterfly, a soaring hawk or simply gaze into a beautiful sunset or the unfathomable space of a dark night’s sky. The beauty and wonder of God’s creation can stop us dead in our tracks and, in a heartbeat, bring us to a space of joy and peace.
There is also no satisfactory human explanation for the gift of MUSIC. Why is it that we can assemble sounds into patterns that touch our souls? The effect of music can be so profound. I remember during a very stressful circumstance, having classical music playing in my home twenty-four hours a day. It made a huge difference in my stress level.
As to NATURE, watching a mother bird caring for its young in a nest; a gentle breeze on a summer’s day; flower blossoms, autumn’s color change, a quiet pond at dusk; a walk in the woods. Nature brings us back to who we really are.
Sometimes a walk can be the highlight of your day. The beauty of nature can bring us peace and joy as we leave the tensions we have accumulated behind and simply observe life as it is meant to be.

Be clear. Not just ANY music, humor or unpaved surface will have the frequency to bring joy. It must be based upon higher vibration and not invert the joyful intention. These three—music, nature and humor—are not small gifts and they cannot be explained with human rationale. They just are…and that is something for which we can be very grateful.
Now add MEDITATION to the formula. What a blessing to feel the perfection of stillness and inner direction. There are numerous methods of meditating so find the technique that suits you. There’s sitting cross-legged and listening to meditation tapes; walking through nature or just being still and doing your best to close out the chatter of the ego mind. Whatever you find, meditation can bring you peace and open your consciousness to wisdom and healthy direction.
Here is a great tip for relaxation during stressful times:
Pause and take a deep breath.
As you exhale, drop your shoulders.
Be grateful, then let go and trust.
Do this as frequently as necessary.
At times, you almost can’t do it too much.
Now that you are laughing, enjoying music and nature and releasing stress, recite your mantra. Most of us have a word, phrase or just sound we can repeat that can deliver us to a place of peacefulness. We call that a mantra.
For instance: ‘I am OK’ or ‘Every day life gets better’ or ‘I am at peace’ or ‘I don’t mind’ or ‘All is well’ or Ah-h-h-h… or just a word like ‘Love’ or a ‘Thank you Dear God!’
Deep breathe, drop shoulders, repeat mantra. This is the pattern.
If a situation or work is too intense reenact this process and let go. The results will be amazing!
As far as actual ‘meditation techniques,’ it is too personal and individual a matter say ‘This is the right way.’ Friend, I am pretty sure your discipline of taking the time to allow Spirit to talk to you, or should I say through you, is how it works best for you. Let go and let the Light/Spirit flow through you.
Even if the ego mind interrupts continually, sooner or later, in the shower or in your dreams, the Truth you seek will come as a result of having been faithful in seeking it. Simply ‘listen to be connected and experience a complete life change.”
