Parfait is now a breakfast choice for many due to the host of health benefits it provides. It is a great alternative to many other breakfast options due to the low amount of sugar it contains.
Parfait is prepared with a variety of fruits that provide the body with nutrients and boost the immune system.
Lastly, Greek yogurt, the key ingredient in parfait, contains probiotics that boost stomach health and help protect the body against many diseases.
An added bonus is that parfait is very easy to prepare.
Interestingly, there are several ways to prepare this rich dessert. Here is one variation:
Greek yogurt (strawberry and plain)
Wash all fruits thoroughly with water and vinegar/salt to avoid contaminations* of any sort. Also, ensure to scrub your hands thoroughly as parfait is a delicate food to prepare.
Chop all the fruits into tiny bits – to ensure that they can fit into a glass – and mix all the chopped pieces together in a bowl.
First, make sure the yogurt is thick enough so it can maintain its form inside the glass. Next, start by layering up 4 tablespoons of the the plain yogurt into a glass. Do the same for the strawberry yogurt in a different glass.
Add about 5 tablespoons each of your chopped fruits into each glass of yogurt.
Mix your coconut crunch and granola together and add about 3 tablespoons of the mixture to each glass.
Layer up yogurt once again on top the mixture in each glass, repeating step 3
Add more chopped fruits to each glass, repeating step 4. You can layer up as many times as you want depending on how large your glass is.
Settle down for a healthy dose of yummy fruit parfait!
