If you are tired of always seeing your notifications bar filled with Instagram notifications, then there is respite for you. In its latest upcoming update, premier social media platform, Instagram has announced the inclusion of a new option to give users the ability to control and pause their notifications for a period of time.
The Facebook-owned app is adding the new feature to help users pause/switch off all their in-app notifications and have a completely silent app for up to eight hours. This ‘Pause all’ option will be better for users as they will now be able to turn off all notifications with a single click rather than individually switching on and off each notification type.
This new feature will be available on all iOS interfaces and reportedly within the Android Beta app.
It is a welcome development as everyone needs a break from the hustle and bustle of social media every now and then. Instagram which is known for trying to combat the negative psychological effects of social media has taken this step to give its users a chance to switch off. Even if it’s for a while.
