Are you and active Instagram shopper? Do you get annoyed by the fact that you have to go off the app to purchase what you see on it? Then there is good news for you. Instagram just took its eCommerce plans to the next level by adding a new checkout option in the app.
Instead of the usual ‘View on Website’ button when you see something you want to purchase, users will now see a ‘Checkout on Instagram’ button. This will enable them purchase the items immediately without having to go to-and-fro online again.
Although it’s not yet still out globally, Instagram are making sure it is ready to go and in the shortest time possible. Payments for products bought will also be made in-app. With this new feature, users are allowed to track their purchases by using a new ‘orders’ tab on their profile. With the in-app payment option, you need to enter your payment data just once and Instagram will store and use the information for future shopping.
According to Instagram;
“Once your first order is complete, your information will be securely saved for convenience the next time you shop. You will also receive notifications about shipment and delivery right inside Instagram, so you can keep track of your purchase.”
With the current impressive growth rate of this social media platform, this is a welcome idea, both for the users and the owners of Instagram. So all the shopaholics out there should get their cards ready! Instagram in-app checkout is bringing all the things you love right into the palm of your hand – literally.
