Get In Here For 5 Of The Most Anticipated Nigerian Movies To See This December

December happens to be that time of the year when top Nigerian filmmakers and production companies go on a releasing spree. Even though the year is about to come to an end, there are still a good number of movies to see in cinemas. From AY’s Merrymen to Kpalihere are 5 movies to watch out for before the year runs out.

Sugar Rush

There has been so much hype about this movie since they started shooting it. Sugar Rush was produced by Jade Osiberu and features the likes of Adesua Etomi, Bisola Aiyeola,  Bimbo Ademoye, William Uchemba, Banky Wellington, Omoni Oboli, Toke Makinwa, Tobi Bakre, Mawuli Gavor, Adedimeji Lateef, Uzor Arukwe, Jide Kosoko and others. The film will be in the cinemas on christmas day.

Your Excellency 

If you’re conversant with EbonyLife TV, then you would know they never fail to drop a movie during the christmas season. Another film by the production company, Your Excellency is Funke Akindele’s directorial debut. The star-studded drama features the likes of Akin Lewis, Funke Akindele-Bello, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju, Shaffy Bello, Kunle Coker, Ekun Edewor, Emmanuel ‘EmmaOMG’ Edunjobi, Alexx Ekubo, and others. The movie is in cinemas from 13 December 2019.

Muna 

There was a lot of hype about Muna earlier this year. The film, which centres around human trafficking, will be showing in cinemas from 6 December 2019. Directed by Kevin Nwankwor, Muna features Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Onyeka Onwenu, Falz, Ebele Okaro, and others. In Muna, viewers get to see Adesua in a new light: shooting guns and fighting the bad guys.

Merrymen 2

Just a year after the release of Merrymen: The Real Yoruba Demons, a sequel is on its way to the cinemas. This time round, the sequel includes a cameo appearance of rapper Olamide. It also features Iretiola Doyle, BBNaija’s Alex Unusual, Regina Daniels, Ufuoma McDermott, Williams Uchemba, Damilola Adegbite, Linda Osifo, and Rosy Meurer. The sequel, Merrymen 2: Another mission, will be in cinemas from 20 December 2019.

Miracle 

Miracle is a movie by Belinda Effah and directed by Pascal Amanfo. The movie, which allegedly took over five years to complete, premiered Monday, 11th November 2019. It features the likes of Belinda Effah, Beverly Naya, Shawn Faqua, Eniola Badmus, Biola Segun-Williams, Emeka Rollas, Nicole Ndigwe, MC Abbey, Beverly Oh, Uche Chidulo and Musa Ibro.

Comedy dramas have become a staple in Nigerian cinemas. Once again, Nollywood had decided to entertain us with this dramedy titled Kpali. The movie’s cast include Ini Dima-Okojie, Nkem Owoh, Gloria Anozie-Young, Linda Ejiofor, Kunle Remi, Uzor Arukwe, Seyilaw, Kunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole, and Linda Ejiofor- Sulaiman among others.
