Today, former James Bond Star Pierce Brosnan, stirred controversy on Twitter after he welcomed the idea of a woman playing James Bond. The 66-year-old told the Hollywood Reporter:
“I think we’ve watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there,” said Brosnan.
This comes after several speculations emerged that actress Lashana Lynch will take over the role of 007. These rumours have been a cause for controversy among fans of the James Bond franchise and it only intensified after Pierce Brosnan’s comment.

I had argued it's anti-feminist to suggest that to get a leading female spy, she'd need to be shoehorned into a male character.
