This week, social media giants, Facebook< launched a new premium video offering program called “Facebook Showcase”.
The new video advertising program has been launched to work with Facebook’s Watch platform as part of the ways Facebook plans to generate income from its platform. With Facebook Showcase, advertisers will now be given the opportunity to reach people using the most popular Watch content.
According to the statement given by the social media platform executives;
“Facebook’s video ecosystem is growing, with a diverse mix of content from original series to content creator. With a growing roster of popular programs such as “Returning the Favour” and “Red Table Talk” on Facebook Watch, we are introducing a new premium video ad program: Facebook Showcase. Showcase will give online video and TV ad buyers participating in upfront selling cycle new opportunities to reach their target audiences within the highest-quality videos on Facebook.”
Although, Facebook Watch has not hit the massive success as expected by the platform’s executives, it still serves more than 400 million viewers monthly. With a whopping 75 million people averaging about 20 minutes Watch time daily – according to TechCrunch, there is a considerably large audience for advertisers to target.
Since its launch, Facebook Watch is gradually reaching its target of being on a ‘TV-like scale’ all around the world. Its 75 million dedicated viewers is already quite higher than the views gotten by several top TV series.
Facebook has also announced that they have a new animated comedy series for its Watch platform called “Human Discoveries”. It will feature major Hollywood stars like Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick.
