Welcome to class. This is etiquette 101 and we will start by simply defining what etiquette is. Simply put, it is defined as the formal manners and rules that are followed in social or professional settings.
They are of course applicable in different formats and ways but we are focusing on those that will help a ladies already good personality show forth.

- The only place to brush your hair, when at a public place, is the ladies’ room. You can retouch your makeup in there too. Doing it in public and in the glare of anyone is considered crass.
- You should not place your hat, purse or bag on the desk or table. On the floor beside your feet or hanged by its strap on the chair is a good enough place for your bag. Your purse can sit on your lap or in your bag.
- A lady should not hop in and out of a car, she is to always slide in and out. This action not only looks graceful, but it also helps you to adjust your dress (if needed) while doing so.
- Keep your smartphones away when you are out with your friends or acquaintances. It is considered rude to be on your phone in the company of others. Unless it is an emergency.
- If you have or want to leave a party earlier than expected, you should only inform the hosts or organizers. Other guests should not be privy to this information so that they would not follow suit.
- Ladies, you should never show the contents of your bag to anyone in public or even otherwise. What is in your bag remains in your bag known only to you.
- Never shout to someone who is in the same room, other room or quite a distance from you. If you cannot signal to be the person to come closer, then hold it in until such a time.
- Ladies, if you own a car, your boyfriend does not need to pick you up. I know that hit you hard but it is the truth. Unless you cannot drive for some reason. Oh and please note that It is okay if your boyfriend escorts you to your car, opens the door for you while you slide in.
- Whatever mood you are in, whatever you are feeling or even going through, it should never affect your manners. It is expected that a lady is proper at all times.
