Social media is alive again as fans go head to head over iconic singer Dionna Warwick and Beyonce.
Dionne in an interview with Essence had stated that she does not think Beyonce should be regarded as an icon yet.
“I have an admiration for Beyoncé Knowles, Carter now. Watching her growth has been quite refreshing. It’s wonderful to see how she’s been able to create what and who she wanted to be and who she is… very proud of that, I really am.Now sustaining and becoming a big icon that Gladys Knight, or Patti LaBelle, or Johnny Mathis, or Frank Sinatra, or Sammy Davis Jr. is? I doubt that,” Warwick said.
The iconic singer continued saying;“And I love her to death and can appreciate her talent. But that iconic status? It’s a long road [ahead].”
This =comment got many riled up causing them to attack the singer but many social media users will not have it as they have taken to Twitter to show that Dionne cannot be disrespected.

I'm a Beyoncé stan but what we're not gonna do is drag living legend Dionne Warwick. You can disagree with her but the amount of disrespect I'm seeing is out of control. She paved the way for 90% of your faves. pic.twitter.com/PPr829HdBm

yall Dionne Warwick paved the WAY for all you girls. Icon to HER and other women of her generation means something TOTALLY different than the insta-classic titles yall wanna give these artists nowadays.

Y'all really asking who is Dionne Warwick, like the woman isn't one of the record holders for most Billboard Hot 100 entries.

Dionne Warwick’s definition of Icon is probably the same as Legend. She sang with Tina Tuner, Cher, And Diana Ross. Absolutely she’s not going to place Beyoncé on their level lol….
And let’s be honest. Rihanna surpassed Beyoncé in singles sales and Hot 100 hits 😜🤷🏾♂️ pic.twitter.com/bf1sXQsxXO

The hive needs to sit all the way down with this dragging of Dionne Warwick. She literally created the black pop girl lane Beyonce is in. The only popular bw entertainers before Dionne is were blues and jazz singers. And none of them were as successful as she was.
