Cristiano Ronaldo Increases The Value Of Juventus

Italian club, Juventus has seen an increase in value after their marquee signing; Cristiano Ronaldo incredibly sent them into the quarter final stage of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Old Lady saw their share price rise by over 20 per cent yesterday morning as a result of their Ronaldo-inspired victory. This is the highest they have managed to hit since the turn of the year, and almost the highest recorded since October 2013.

Juventus had secured an enthralling 3-0 home win over Spanish rivals, Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Round-of-16 stage match. The win saw them turn around the 2-0 deficit they fell to at Atletico’s home stadium last month. A lot of pundits had written them off due to the famous staunch nature of the Atletico defence but Juventus found a savior in their talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese scored a hat trick to ensure that he and his team mates make it to the next stage of the competition. This Ronaldo’s hat trick takes him up to the spot of highest number of hat-tricks in the history of the competition – on par with Argentine forward, Lionel Messi. Ronaldo also made sure he continued on his hot streak against former city rivals, Atletico Madrid. The forward has now found the back of the net 25 times in just 33 games against Atletico Madrid.

His contribution has now earned the Old Lady about £9 million for getting to the quarter finals, in addition to the £8 million earned earlier for getting to the Round-of-16 knockout stage.

Juventus can now look forward to the next stage of the competition with confidence knowing that they have the Champions League King within their ranks. And they can look forward to getting richer too.
