Getting your bags ready for a trip or vacation can be somewhat tiring so we’ve helped you come up with a packing checklist that will help you remember the essentials.
When it comes to packing always remember that the heavy stuff is always at the bottom, stuff that leaks go into plastic bags and things you’ll need as soon as you arrive at your destination at the top.
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, here are your essentials.
- PASSPORT
Imagine your village people hoping that you forget this and then miss your flight because you have to rush home to pick it up. But we will not let you forget, that is why it is Number 1.
- CLOTHES (Including PJs).
Unless you intend to walk buck naked (and risk an arrest) or wear one cloth all through your vacation, you need clothes but don’t over pack – it’s going to be hard to fit everything in your suitcase if you take more than you need or pack on impulse.
- ADAPTERS
Some countries do not have the same socket dimensions as we do. So google the country and their adapters and buy as stated.
- PHONE CHARGER/ POWER BANK
You know that annoying feeling when your battery runs out of juice? Yup, avoid it at all cost, take your charger.
- SOCKS
If where you are going is a colder climate, then you need thick socks. And then you’ll also need ankle socks if you’ll be wearing trainers around.
- BODY WASH/BAR SOAP
It would be a good idea to fill up smaller sized bottles with your body wash or have your bar soap on hand. This helps as you cannot confirm if your body products will be accessible in the country you are traveling to.
- HAIR PRODUCTS
These include hair shampoos, sprays, gels, brushes, and products to generally make your hair tidy and neat.
- GLASSES/ CONTACT LENSES/ CONTACT LENSES CLEANER
For those who wear glasses or use contact lenses, the above are all VERY important. You want to SEE when you’re traveling. Abi what is the point when you’ll be squinting and having your head ache.
- MEDICATION
For any prescribed medicines you take daily, set an alarm on your phone so that you remember to take it. It’s so easy to forget when you’re surrounded by packing and a lot of clothes.
- SNACKS
Small snacks that will fit in your hand luggage and not be tossed out by Customs is necessary as they can make for a quick, easy breakfast on the go especially if the food on the plane is not to your liking.
So there you have it. 10 essentials needed. Compare your checklist with ours and update if need be
