Without plenty of stories and big grammar, let us begin.
- Women are not treated the same in all countries: Before you embark on a journey far away from your country whether by birth or residence, remember that women are not treated the same everywhere. Let it sink in so that you will not be shocked when certain things happen or are been said to you.
- Tourist prices: Be aware that this exists and it is a thing. You as a tourist will definitely by things a lot more expensive than a local. No matter how much you are good in negotiation. It is just the way it is.
- Homesickness happens: You can be having the time of your life minute and th next, you are wishing you are back home in your comfort zone. It happens and it is allowed. Just know that if it gets too much and you cannot bear it anymore, home is a ticket or 2 away.
- Make-up is not a do or die affair: First and foremost, you do not need as much makeup as you think you do on that trip. You really do not. Secondly, it is not by force and no one wonder why your face is not cemented with it. It is okay to allow your face to breathe.
- It is not too dangerous to travel alone: People would have said this to you a couple of times and probably tried to dissuade you from taking the solo trip under the disguise of it is too dangerous. Do not mind them.
- It is okay to change plans when travelling: Whether it’s leaving a particular hotel earlier or staying in a place longer, whatever it is, you are allowed to do it if you want
- Books: Books are a great dinner companion since you are travelling alone. But what is greater is an e-book. It does not take up extra space which is even better for packing
- Pictures, Pictures, Pictures: You should take pictures of the places you visit, 3 shots of each place is more than okay so that you can actually enjoy the scenery. Also, refrain from posting as you are experiencing, takes a lot of time away from you. Instead, wait until the end of the day to do that.
- Leave your valuables at home: This is as self-explanatory as it gets.
- Be Early: Show up early for whatever mode of transportation you are going with. It does not pay to be tardy.
