Now to Messi’s Brilliance. Much had been said about Lionel Messi’s inability to find the back of the net as this stage of the competition over the last few years. He got two quick-fire goal for himself and could have had a hat-trick on several occasions. But with Phillipe Coutinho on hand to put in the finishing touches to what the highest UCL goalscorer this season had started, there was no way out for Manchester United. Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s men were beaten, outplayed and shown the door home and out of this year’s UCL.

This night proved to be a really exciting night of Champions League football. Let’s hope tomorrow’s games can live up to tonight’s.
