We just posted some interesting facts about chihuahua dogs a few days ago. Here are even more adorable facts you will love about these little dogs.
1. Before they were called Chihuahuas, people named them after the regions in which they were found. As a result, they called them the “Arizona dog”, “Texas dog”, and the “chihuahua dog”.
2. Chihuahuas are the only dog breed to prefer the company of other chihuahuas over other breeds, hence they exhibit a “clannish” nature.

4. One of the most common health problems chihuahuas face is that they have dental problems. Due to their small mouth, they often suffer from tooth decay, gum disease, and can even experience more serious issues like stroke. This is why it is important to brush their teeth regularly and keep sugar and carbohydrates away from their die. Unfortunately, a study has found that there are no absolute preventive measures, hence it is important to have its teeth checked regularly by the vet.
5. Despite their small size, chihuahuas are known to protect their family members from predators. One chihuahua named Zoey protected her owner’s 1-year-old grandson from a rattlesnake by jumping in front of it. Though she ended up being bitten by the snake, she later recovered after receiving medical treatment.
