7 Signs Every Road User Should Know

Every day, we frequent the road, either as drivers, passengers, bikers or paedestrines. To make the road safer for all, as well as ease movement, the government of every country comes up with strategic signs and symbols to guide road users. However, most of us seldom know the meaning these signs and symbols.

 

This is wrong on all counts as knowledge of road signs and traffic signs are a must for every road user. It would save you a lot of stress and embarrassment to just be on the know. Who knows? It might even save your life someday.

 

Here are some traffic signs every road user should know:

 

School Children Crossing: This is mostly prominent in a school environment. It basically means the driver is required to slow down.

 

 

 

Caution, Work ongoing: This is used when there is a construction happening nearby. It is aimed at alerting drivers about the presence of worker nearby.

 

Warning, Sharp Bend Ahead: Used to warn drivers about a sharp bend ahead. This is to nable them slow down adequately.

 

No Parking: This is mostly placed at designated, mosly business, areas with little parking spaces but wherein the owners do not need other drivers parking at the same spot.

No entry: Only authorized vehicles are allowed into areas with these signs. Stay away to prevent litigation.

 

Speed Bumps Ahead: Most drivers, once they get into the steering wheel, only speed. This sign tries to warn them about the presence of speed breakers nearby, which would require them to slow down.

 

One-Way Sign: This tells drivers that there is only one way to go. You can only move forward, but you cannot return on the same route.
