The Spanish giants were on the receiving end this time. After Roma had slumped to a 4-1 quarterfinal first leg defeat against Barcelona, the Italian team rallied themselves and shut out Barcelona to win 3-0 in the second leg game. Roma qualified as a result of the away goal rule after the tie had an aggregate score of 4-4.
