A couple of Nigerian singers who are married today ensured their wedding was the talk of the town. From the clothes to the decor down to the souvenir and guests present, everything as they wished, was top-notch.

Banky W and Adesua Etomi

Nigerian singer Banky W tied the knot with his actress wife Adesua Etomi in Cape Town, South Africa on the 25th of November in a lavish wedding attended by family and friends. The couple had earlier held their star-studded traditional wedding on the 19th of November in Lagos and as expected, it was more like a carnival. On why he opted for an elaborate wedding, Banky said;

I have learnt to grow thick skin and almost always ignore the online chatter, but every once in a while, I feel the need to respond. So here are my 2 cents.

The singer added that the wedding was the coming together of two families who also have their own requests, hence the need for an elaborate wedding.

Tuface Idibia and Annie Idibia

The couple who dated on and off for may year finally tied the knot in March 2013, they have two daughters. The couple got married at a very lavish wedding in Dubai which saw many Nigerian celebrities in attendance. On why he chose Annie as his wife, Tuface said;

I have been fortunate enough to have met a couple of nice ladies in life and two of them even have children for me. But I think that Annie and I understand each other more. As with matters of the heart, it is very difficult sometimes to find the right words to explain it. Somehow, you just know that this is the particular person that you want to stay with.

Oritsefemi and Nabila

The Double Wahala crooner weeks before his grand wedding bragged about it being a carnival-like celebration. The singer tied the knot with his woman in 2017 and during an interview slammed claims that his wedding which took almost the same period as singer Banky W, was nowhere as elaborate as Banky’s. In his words;

“Initially, I did not notice that people were comparing my wedding with Banky W’s but later, after the whole ceremony, I noticed it. I did not even know that Banky was getting married on the same day that I did.

“But to be truthful, I knew that he had a ceremony about a week ago so I thought that was his wedding. I have no issues with both of us getting married on the same day, if anything; it was more fun because like they say, the more the merrier. I was the one that got married and I am not even doing any form of comparison. All I wanted was to have a classy wedding and I got that at the end of the day.

“My wedding was well attended by highly respected people in the society. I don’t see any comparison because Banky even had his own in South Africa while mine was in Nigeria.

“Banky’s wedding did not outshine mine. Although I did not follow what was happening on the social media, I was told that my wedding trended on Twitter. I feel it was more fun for us that we got married on the same day and we were keeping people busy on the Internet.

“The Internet almost went crazy for both weddings. I don’t see any problem with it. Entertainers don’t see such as a competition but it is the fans that always start such comparison.

“All I know is that both weddings went well, they were classy and it would go down in history as one of the most talked about weddings of 2017. I congratulate Banky W on his wedding and wish him and his bride blessings,” he said.

Despite the couple opting for a very secretive wedding, their nuptials was very much elaborate. The couple had the who-is-who in the entertainment industry in attendance.

Gabrielle Afolayan and Adebanke

This Nigerian actor and singer tied the knot with his woman Adebanke at a very lavish wedding back in 2018. Gabrielle who is the younger brother to ace filmmaker Kunle Afolayan had many celebrity guests at his wedding.
