5 Nigerian Celebrities Who Are Also Authors

With each day comes new eciting news about the Nigerian entertainment industry as just a few hours ago actress Chilka Ike’s book  BOSS UP was endorsed by Harvard Business School, where she recently graduated from.

In that light, here are 5 Nigerian celebrities who are also authors.

Chika Ike

The actress released her book Boss Up in 2018 and revealed that it took her 7 years to finish work on the book. Ike also disclosed that the 41-chapter book is only her beginning into the world of book writing.

“Seven years of documenting my thoughts, emotions, truths and events that taught me some life lessons has brought me to this point. Three years before my mum, who was also an author, passed away, she knew of my unpublished book and encouraged me to tell my truths.

“I am a very guarded person; my walls are up because life has thrown me so many curveballs. But I brought down all my walls in this book. I am happy I finally published my book.”

Toke Makinwa

The vlogger and OAP had many talking after the release of her book On Becoming which revealed everything about her 14 years relationship with Maje Ayida whom she married and later divorced. According to Makinwa; “I had to accept that my life was a mess. That behind my smiles, the glam and the façade, I was a trembling hot mess. Accepting the truth was the first step on my long walk to forgiveness,”

Celebrating the second anniversary of her book in 2018, Toke stated that her book helped a lot of women speak their truth.

“It’s been 2 years since I launched my first book “On Becoming by Toke Makinwa”, 2 years since I put my pain to paper and shared my journey with the world. It’s been such an incredible journey, it has sparked off so many conversations and ultimately there has been a lot of talk. Why did she air her dirt laundry? she tried to destroy her Ex, she monetized her pain, she’s cold and deserved everything she went through. Ive been criticized by people who later went on the same journey and found out that this life is full of twists and turns. but there’s also been victories won.

“I have met so many women who found the courage to speak out because they read this book, I have heard of so many women who found their voice and found the brave in them to shame the culture of shame that we are faced with daily as women, I won’t forget the email from a guy who was honest about how bad of a partner he had been and reading the book made him have a change of heart. I traveled the world, had an amazing tour and met so many people who I learnt from just by listening to them. Sometimes things happen not just for you but for the millions of lives that will learn from your struggle and your challenges and to those people I can tell you today I have no regrets, just blessings.”
