Since the last two years more than 100 powerful people, to include celebrities, politicians, CEOs, and others, have been accused of one sexual harassment, assault, or other misconduct crimes or the other.
Today we will be talking about a few celebrities that have faced new public accusations of sexual misconduct.
Cardi B
The rapper and new mum whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar began trending on social media yesterday when an old video of her from 3 years ago surfaced online. The video sees the Bodak Yellow crooner confessing to having drugged and robbed many men during her stripping days. Coming under major heat for this, Cardi, has since taken to her IG page to share her reason for this.
In her words;
“So I’m seeing on social media that [an Instagram] live I did 3 years ago has popped back up. A live where I talked about things I had to do in my past right or wrong that I felt I needed to do to make a living“I never claim (sic) to be perfect or come from a perfect world wit (sic) a perfect past I always speak my truth I always own my s–t.”
There are rappers that glorify murder violence drugs an (sic) robbing. Crimes they feel they had to do to survive,” she said. “I never glorified the things I brought up in that live I never even put those things in my music because I’m not proud of it and feel responsibility not to glorify it.”
Aziz Ansari
Not long after he snagged a Golden Globe for his performance in the Netflix series “Master of None,” actor/comedian Aziz Ansari was accused of sexual misconduct by a 23-year-old Brooklyn photographer.
According to the young lady, the actor forcefully kissed her and trying to have sex with her while on a date.
“I believe that I was taken advantage of by Aziz,” the woman told babe.net, the outlet to first report the encounter. “I was not listened to and ignored. It was by far the worst experience with a man I’ve ever had.”
Russel Simmons
Entertainment mogul Russell Simmons was accused by two different women of sexual misconduct causing the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings to announce that he will be stepping down from a leadership role in his companies so as “to commit myself to continuing my personal growth, spiritual learning and above all to listening.”
Model Keri Claussen Khalighi was the first to accuse Simmons of harassment. Via an article in The Los Angeles Times, Khalighi claimed she was coerced into performing oral sex on Simmons while film director Brett Ratner watched. This according to her happened in 1991, when she was 17. Simmons, responding to this claiming said the encounter was consensual.
On Nov. 30, screenwriter Jenny Lumet (“Rachel Getting Married,” “The Mummy”) also revealed how a date with Simmons in 1991 ended with what she described as a sexual assault at his apartment.
This caused Simmons to announce via a statement that he was stepping down from his companies.
