The leading Nollywood actor/director, was born Desmond Oluwashola Elliot on 4 February 1974 in Lagos State, Nigeria.

1. He was born Desmond Oluwashola Elliot on 4 February 1974 in Lagos State, Nigeria.

2. His father is Yoruba from Olowogbowo in Lagos Island, Lagos and his mother is from Illah in Oshimili North, Delta State.

3. Desmond had his primary education at the Air Force Primary School before proceeding to St John’s College in Jos for his secondary school education. He snagged a degree from the University of Lagos where he studied Economics.

4. Desmond started off in the Nigerian entertainment scene by appearing in hit soap operas like Everyday People, Saints and Sinners and One Too Much to mention a few.

5. Since joining the movie world, he was been nominated and won several awards to include the best supporting actor in a drama at the 2nd Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. Desmond Elliot was also nominated for the best supporting actor at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

6. He co-produced and co-directed the movie “Reloaded” in 2008. The movie went on to receive 3 nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009.

7. He once stated that he accepts only movie roles that would make him slim down “you get to that pointin your career; money is not the issue anymore. Like now, I cannot take normal
roles. I have to take something that would make me want to lose so much weight
or put on so much weight or talk in a certain way”

8. In 2015, he was elected as a lawmaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency.

9. He is happily married to Victoria Elliot and they have four beautiful children.
