The world has lost a couple of heroes in forms of celebrities, but even as they may be gone, they remain alive in our hearts forever.
Here are 10 celebrities that died in 2019
Nipsey Hussle
Nipsey was shot dead on March 31, at the age of 33.
The “Hussle & Motivate” crooner born Ermias Asghedom, was shot dead on the street where his clothing store, the Marathon Clothing Company, is located.
His debut album, Victory Lap, snagged a nomination for the best rap album at the Grammy Awards in February. Nipsey is survived by two children: daughter Emani from a previous relationship and son Kross, 2, and his Hollywood actress girlfriend, actress Lauren London, 34.
Karl Lagerfeld
Karl was the creative director of Chanel, Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld before his death on Feb. 19. He died at the age of 85.
Chanel via a statement confirmed his passing writing: “It is with deep sadness that the House of Chanel announces the passing of Karl Lagerfeld, the Creative Director for the Chanel Fashion House since 1983.”
Kristoff St. John
John who acted in hit TV series Young and the Restless star passed at the age of 52 on Feb. 3.
According to reports, a death investigation for a possible alcohol overdose took place.
John lost his son Julian with ex-wife Mia at the age of 24 back in 2014. The actor underwent psychiatric treatment in 2017 after he reportedly threatened to kill himself with a gun.
Scott Walker
Born Noel Scott Engel in 1943 in Ohio, Walker, the avant-garde pioneer, passed in late March, at the age of 76. Walker’s record label announced his death via a statement.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Scott Walker,” the statement read. “Scott Walker has been a unique and challenging titan at the forefront of British music: audacious and questioning, he has produced works that dare to explore human vulnerability and the godless darkness encircling it.”
Justin Carter
Carter passed after a gun that was being used as a prop on the set of his music video went off. He died at the age of 35.
Cindy McClellan, his mother, while speaking with Fox News said that gun in Carter’s pocket “went off and hit him in the ‘corner of his eye.”
“He was a wonderful artist. He was the voice, he was the total package and we’re trying to keep his legend [alive].”
“He was a wonderful person, very loving and he loved our God very much.”
Mike Thalassitis
Lisa Sheridan
Lisa acted in Invasion and Halt and Catch Fire. She passed at the age of 44 on February 25th. Her death was confirmed by her manager Mitch Clem to PEOPLE.
Donna D’Errico, Lisa’s co-star paid tribute to her on Facebook writing;“It’s so rare to find kind, gentle souls like hers in this industry, this city…even this world. Truly one of the most genuinely sweet and gentle people I’ve ever come across in my life.”
Emiliano Sala
Footballer Emiliano Sala died in a plane crash on Jan. 21. He was aged 28.
According to reports, the plane carrying Sala from Nantes, France, to Cardiff, Wales, suddenly went off radar and took nearly three weeks of searching, before the wreckage was discovered and Sala’s body was found.
Stephanie Sherk
The Canadian model and actress who was married to Oscar nominee Demián Bichir died at the age of 43 on April 20. According to reports, she died by drowning.
Her husband who confirmed the news via an IG post wrote; “It has been the saddest and toughest time of our lives and we don’t know how much time it will take for us to overcome this pain,” Bichir wrote. “Stefanie’s beautiful, angelical and talented presence will be immensely missed. We will hold Stefanie in our hearts forever.”
