There are no free passes for bad behavior, even as a celebrity as it has been said countless times, no one is above the law.
Here are 10 actors that have been nabbed by the hands of the law.
Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino
Mike was arrested on October 5, 2018, for not paying his taxes. The actor who is best known as The Situation on MTV’s Jersey Shore was sentenced to eight months in prison. His lawyer tried to get him on probation with no luck.
Sorrentino was also sentenced to two years of supervised release, as well as 500 hours of community service upon his release. He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.
Robert Downey, Jr.
Hollywood actor Robert Downey, Jr. spent almost a year in a California treatment facility as well as state prison following the many times he violated his parole which was associated with charges related to drugs.
Sean Penn
Oscar winner actor Sean Penn found himself behind bars. In 1987, after he was sentenced to 60 days in jail for punching an extra on the set of his film Colors. Penn was already on probation from two prior assaults.
Luckily for him, he ended up serving just a fraction of the sentence thanks to his then-wife Madonna, who decided against pressing charges for a particularly brutal domestic encounter.
Lauryn Hill
The singer and actress was behind bars for three months in federal prison due to her not paying her taxes. Hill released her new single, “Consumerism” on the day she was released.
Christian Slater
Christian was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend and a police officer in 1997. This according to reports happened while he was intoxicated. Christian pled guilty and ended up spending three months in prison and another 3 months in rehabilitation. He had earlier spent 10 days in jail for
50 Cent
Actor and rapper 50 Cent was in a correctional boot camp for six months. This was due to his involvement in multiple charges related to drugs. The rapper was only 16 years old at that time.

O. J. Simpson
OJ Simpson was held behind bars for nine years for a 2007 armed robbery and kidnapping. In 2017, he was released despite the original sentence being 33 years.
Lil’ Kim
Juwanna Mann actress Lil’ Kim was sentenced to a year in prison after she was convicted on conspiracy and perjury. Kim lied to a grand jury during her testimony for friend and manager, Damion Butler. Butler had been arrested on charges stemming from a shootout in front of a radio station.
Video evidence shown in court showed Butler opening the door for Kim. Kim had claimed she did not see Butler that day.
Kiefer Sutherland
The actor spent 48 days in jail after pleading he pled no contest to DUI charges and violation of his probation. Sutherland underwent an 18-month alcohol education program upon his release and had to attend weekly therapy sessions.
Ja Rule
The Cookout actor spent 2 years behind bars for having an unauthorized in his possession. Ja Rule started his time in 2011 which was extended by an additional 28 months to run concurrently, due to his failure to pay his taxes.
