Not many celebrities have had it easy when it comes to baring children and today we will be talking about 10 celebrities who have been open about their fertility issues.

JORDANA BREWSTER

The Hollywood actress and her husband Andrew Form welcomed their sons Julian and Rowan via surrogacy. Jordana before the birth of her first child opened up on her fertility struggles in an interview with Cosmopolitan for Latinas. According to her surrogacy is “the most intimate leap of faith and trust you can take.”

NICOLE KIDMAN

Actress Nicole adopted two of her kids with ex-husband Tom Cruise. The Hollywood actress however delivered daughter Sunday Rose with husband Keith Urban at the age 41. In an interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes, Nicole spoke on her fertility issues as well as the couple getting a gestational carrier. “Anyone who’s been in the place of wanting another child or wanting a child knows the disappointment, the pain and the loss that you go through trying,” she said. “We were in a place of desperately wanting another child. I couldn’t get pregnant.”

MARIA MENOUNOS

The E! News host has always shared her experience using IVF to help her conceive a child with her longtime fiancéKeven Undergaro. Via her IG page, Maria wrote; “After months and months of IVF treatments and not feeling myself… I am happy to be able to post this picture & say I feel like me again.’

ANGELA BASSET

Iconic Hollywood actress Angela Basset and her husband Courtney B. Vance in an interview with Oprah opened up on their years-long journey before they conceived fraternal twins, Bronwyn Golden and Slater Josiah, whom they welcomed via surrogacy.  The couple struggled for 7 years before deciding on surrogacy.

KATE WALSH

Private Practice actress has opened confirmed she does want kids but revealed she went through early menopause. Speaking with Maria Menounos, Kate said; “I don’t have children. I’m not going to have kids. I went through early menopause.… My older sister called and was like, ‘By the way, you should go and get yourself checked because I’m going through menopause early…..And I’m like, ‘You’re just scaring me.’ And then, yeah, sure enough, I went and they were like, ‘You have one egg.’… It was bleak.”

KIM KARDASHIAN WEST

The reality TV star spoke about her fertility issues which cropped up in her bid to have baby number two on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Kim is quoted as saying; “There are definitely times when I walked out [of the doctor’s office] hysterically crying. And other times when I was like, ‘Okay, everything’s looking good, it’s going to be this month!’ The waiting and waiting have been a roller coaster.”

GIULIANA RANCIC

Popular TV host Giuliana and her husband Bill’s shared their journey to pregnancy on their reality show. The couple opened up on their  IVF experience, miscarriage, and a breast cancer diagnosis. Guliana’s cancer medication made it impossible for her to carry her own embryos, causing the couple to use a surrogate to give birth to their son, Duke, in 2012.

CHRISSY TEIGEN

Model Chrissy opened up on the struggle she and husband John Legend went through before they conceived their first baby.  Announcing her pregnancy via IG, Chrissy wrote; “As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now,” she said. “It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening.”

Before conceiving her twins Moroccan and Monroe, Mariah suffered a miscarriage. Speaking with Barbara Walters on if her and ex-husband Nick Cannon had fertility treatments, Mariah said;  “The main thing I did that was tough was to go on progesterone, like, every month… and then when I was pregnant, I had to stay with the progesterone for 10 weeks,” she said. “It minimizes the chance of miscarriage by 50 percent.”

TYRA BANKS

Tyra also revealed she has had fertility problems. “When I turned 40, the one thing I was not happy about is that I did not have kids.” On the IVF she had undergone, the model said, “I’ve had some not-happy moments with that, very traumatic moments. It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen.” Tyra now has a son.
